Padeyes and flush deck nozzles are two seperate things. Padeyes are only for aircraft and equipment security. Nothing can be attached to flushdeck nozzles; they are pretty small anyhow. Flushdeck nozzles can pump salt water or AFFF (foam). Throw the tie down is not a real game but a joke made by people that sleep on the deck below the flight deck. The TD-1A tie down chain has a working load of 10,000 lbs. There are different levels of tie down security: initial (6 chains)(4 lose chains on helicopters), intermediate (9 chains), permanent (12 chains), heavy weather (as many as possible). Helicopter initial tiedowns are lose because of resonance vibrations while engaging and disengaging rotors. The thousands of flight deck padeyes are regularly checked for wear and corrosion and a new star portion can be welded into the recess. Flushdeck nozzles are checked for proper operation by the crash crew each time the ship pulls out to sea.
